The Mutable Signs

thThis week we will look at brief descriptions of the Mutable Signs ~

The Mutable or learning/dispersing/destroyer sign are characterized as a trait of changeable behavior, adaptable, flexible, easily grasps new methods of learning and a wide vision.

Gemini as mutable air demonstrates changeability through a constant change of mind and ideas and is always on the move.

Virgo as mutable earth is practical and seeks to find work in the service field in order to express its various multi tasking skills.

Sagittarius as mutable fire is on a quest of adventures to continuously enrich and broaden its knowledge and experience of the essence self either through travel, philosophy, religion, or a spiritual path

Pisces as mutable water consistently endeavors to adapts itself through its own ever changing realm of feelings and through the changeable moods and feelings of others.

The Fixed Signs

The Fixed or sustaining signs are characterized as willful, persevering, determined to maintain their position, consistent, and resistant.

Taurus as fixed earth is stable, persevering and determined to hold onto its material possessions.

Leo as fixed fire demonstrates a proud and powerful strength of purpose in its creative self-expression.

Scorpio as fixed water seeks emotional control through feelings and ideas in itself and in others.

Aquarius as fixed air is loyal and reliable in friendships and strongly maintains opinions.

The Cardinal Signs

Earth-at-Night-From-SpaceThis week we will begin with a brief description of the Cardinal Signs ~

The Cardinal or creative signs are characterized as active, self-motivated, ambitious, they generate and initiate.

Aires as fire and identity initiates by its will to enterprise and project itself into the world.

Cancer as water and the feeling nature seeks to create and motivate activity through emotional needs.

Libra as air and communication seeks to join people and inspire social interaction.

Capricorn as earth and practicality generates accomplishment and motivates leadership.

The Quadruplicities in Astrology

Quadruplicities are a representation of the three basic qualities in all of life: Creator, Sustainer and Destroyer.

We find this trilogy reflected in some religions: The Father, Son, and Holy Ghost or Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva also in the symbolism of the Celtic Trinity.

In Astrology they correlate as qualities with in a grouping of the signs using the terms:Cardinal Fixed and Mutable also described as Action, Security and Learning.

The Cardinal Signs (Creative): Aires, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn and refer to action and initiative.

The Fixed signs (Sustainer): Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius  and refer to security, and consolidated learning.

The Mutable signs (Destroyer): Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces  and refer to the evaluation of learning, the letting go and transitioning into the creative again.

You will notice each category of qualities contains one of the four elements.

The Quadruplicity also refers to house positions using the terms : Angular Succedent and Cadent.

Angular Houses correspond to the main angles or “where or how we begin” and houses one, four, seven and ten.  The Creator

Succedent Houses correspond to the “attaining, consolidating, succeeding” and houses two, five, eight and eleven.  The Sustainer

Cadent Houses correspond to “ coming to the end, resolution, to disperse and the houses three, six, nine and twelve. The Destroyer

The Triplicity of the Water Signs

Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces

The Water signs relate to our feeling world, our emotional, psychic body and astral plane.

Water carries our karmic impressions and are an important source of information.

Its the element of the Emotional Body.

This weeks blog features the Water Sign Triplicity in the natural order of:

Personal, Interpersonal and The Universal; Collective Consciousness.

The water sign of Cancer as the personal: is connected to the home, family, the mother, our roots, learning about sensitivity and at the deepest level our Soul. Cancers quest is the ability to develop and source our sense of safety and nurturing from within, to find home knowing that we are home where ever we go.

The water sign of Scorpio as in the interpersonal; Scorpio relates to the process of death, rebirth, sexuality, shared resources, and transformation. Scorpio is the letting go of the attachments to whatever we are holding onto outside of ourselves for emotional security. The transformation from I desire to I create.

The water sign of Pisces as the Universal, Collective Consciousness; Pisces is synthesis, wholeness, oneness, unity consciousness, the faith doubt dimension and psychological healing. The highest evolution of Pisces is the recognition of our wholeness, to dissolve the illusion of separateness, to love ourselves unconditionally.

The Water Triplicity portends to cycle of evolution in our emotional life.

The Triplicity of the Air Signs

Air ~ Gemini, Libra, Aquarius

Air relates to the mental realm, the intellect, communication, balance and relationships.

Its the element of the Mental Body.

This weeks blog features the Air Sign Triplicity in the natural order of:

Personal, Interpersonal and The Universal; Collective Consciousness.

The Air sign of Gemini as the personal; Gemini’s learning relates to understanding communication has 2 parts, its active and receptive and balancing both listening and speaking is essential. The essence of what Gemini really craves is connection. In order to create connection Gemini is required first to develop a inner communication  and then be willing to share themselves deeply.

The Air sign of Libra as the interpersonal; Libra’s central learnings concern the union idea or we consciousness. The issues are around projection; learning to see others objectively as they truly are and not to withhold feelings or significant communication in fear of creating inharmonious situations. Libra’s goal of intimacy and connection is through the willingness to communicate authentically.

The Air sign of Aquarius as the Collective Consciousness; Aquarius learning is to accept  differences in relationships and by doing this, it doesn’t  requires conformity or a loss of individuality.  Aquarius connection is for the brotherhood of man, with a representation of equality.  The essence of Aquarius understands the evolution of our growing consciousness requires we be connected with everyone.

This is the Air triplicity we cycle through as we grown in awareness in the realm of our communication, relationships and connections.

The Triplicity of the Fire Signs

Fire Signs

The Fire Signs are ~ Aires, Leo, Sagittarius

Fire relates to identity, will, spirit.

Its the element of the Spiritual body

As I mention in my last blog I would like to take a closer look at the sign elements in the triplicities.

Each of the signs in their respective element always follows the pattern of:

Personal, Interpersonal and Universal or Collective Consciousness.

The Fire signs want to wake us up to who we are, our true identity

The Fire sign of Aires is the Personal; on the identity level  starts with self understanding and personal awareness. Aires asks the question “Who AM I” with the ultimate understanding who we are is the “I AM”

The Fire sign of Leo is the Interpersonal; Leo takes us into new realms of identity  learning about the personality and ego self and creative self expression. Leo has an ego and personality self, however, is not identified with it.

The Fire sign of Sagittarius is the Universal; on the identity level  learns to  perceive our life from a place of higher consciousness, our true essence and that we are all connected to the Collective Consciousness. Sagittarius experiences are for the awareness  we are  the all pervading witnessing consciousness.

As we grow in awareness, we continuously cycle through this evolution of identity learning.

Your astrological natal chart is constructed using you date, time and place of birth. The information is calculated and formulates your natal chart, indicating the ascendent, the placement of the signs, planets, nodes, etc,  in the different area’s of your life and how they are all interacting with each other.

Planets, Signs and Higher Learning

One of the most fascinating discoveries I made about astrology is that the Signs contain essential higher learnings of development and Planets have higher octaves of vibration.

From my perspective, this awareness is one of the most valuable benefits of astrology, as it fuels our choices from a space of conscious intention.

For an example of a planet, if we look at some generalized meanings of the planet Saturn, we find descriptions associated with authority, the father, responsibility, discipline, tradition, approval, recognition, achievement. If we examine closely the essence of these descriptions what is being asked of us, is to find our own inner voice of truth, to source our own authority and approval. From this place we are in alignment with the highest octave of learning that Saturn wishes to teach us. It shifts the emphasis away from anything outside of ourselves and offers the joy of wholly taking responsibility and authorship of our life. Feels liberating and empowering to me!

For a sign example, if we look at some generalized meanings of the sign Virgo, we find descriptions associated with the analytical process of the learning mind, perfection, analysis, process, everyday work and service of our duty our dharma,  healing, criticism, statistics, judgement, discrimination and sacrifice.  If we examine closely the essence of these descriptions what is being asked of us is; yes, there is a place for such qualities of analysis, exactness and perfection to use in our work that proves to be really valuable, however, not when in the end it equates to criticism, blame and judgement. The higher learning shift available to us comes from using our ability of perfectionism for compassion and understanding, thats when it becomes true service and healing. Also, being open to see the perfection of “what is” occurring in the moment rather than how our minds think it should be in order for it to be perfect. Often times with the Virgo energy we are also learning the difference between sacrifice and service; if we are sacrificing ourselves, thats not true service, nor is it healing. Doing our work from a place of love and honoring is what heals ourselves and others!

You Are Not Just Your Sun Sign

Blazing SunHow many times have people approached you asking you your sun sign with the suggestion that it is somehow a personality description of you?

Yes, its true the Sun is your vitalizing core and in addition there is the Moon which is another luminary, and the other 10 planets that signs occupy.

I would like to dispel this myth ~ you are NOT just your Sun Sign. What is more true is that you contain all of the 12 signs and each of these signs correlates to an area of your life.

For example, you may have been born under the Sun sign of Aquarius and you may  not have any planets in the sign of Cancer. However, the sign energy of Cancer is still a part of you and will occupy some area of your life. Lets say, this Cancer sign energy occupies or sits on the cusp of the 7th house of your chart, which relates to one on one relationships and/or the marriage house. The qualities of Cancer will usually apply there. Since the Cancer energy is associated with home, mother, nurturance, a wanting to fee safe; you are likely to want to nurture your partner, be mother to your partner or want you partner to mother or nurture you.

We are whole and complete, so it makes much more sense that we would contain all of sign energies.

The value of the natal chart consultation, it that it shows you your unique and individual souls design and learning in this lifetime.
